We want to serve everyone as best we can. The community status report gives us insight into nearby populations so we can effectively serve everyone in our area. Every year, we evaluate the statistics gathered to create a report that summarizes key indicators and goals to establish effective programs, find relevant resources, and provide practical support.
What does the Community Status Report Cover?
By collating research from several organizations, we can establish needs across Lubbock. The community status report gives us important insight into our community. The research highlights several points, including:
Priorities & Indicators
We cover objectives and statistics, including economics, community safety, school functioning, college readiness, and infants born healthy.
Education, Safety, & Health
We examine trends in crime rates, hospital visits, and school attendance data to identify areas of concern across Lubbock.
Population
The Community Status Report reviews Lubbock County's demographics, including race, age, income, and voting involvement.
Economics
The report covers federal minimum wage, poverty and affordable housing, and Lubbock's economic index.

Aditi utilizes the Parents as Teachers program at the Parenting Cottage. Through these classes, she learns more about Salena’s developmental milestones and about how to build successful foundations at home.
Through Lubbock Area United Way, Ajay participated in United We Read, allowing him build his reading skills for the 3rd grade.
Salena attends day care at Lubbock’s Early Learning Centers, one of United Way’s community partners.
Mani attended Goodwill’s Job Training & Placement classes, which helped him write his resume for his next job search.
Naya attends counseling through Family Counseling Services to help her adjust to starting high school.
